Bakit marami sa Trans Pinay ang under sa HRT or Hormone Replacement Therapy?
So today, itackle natin mostly is the feminizing HRT, kasi syempre, I am a transwoman and I know little or even very little sa masculinizing besides what I may have learned from school.
Today dito sa Philippines mas madami na ang transwoman na under ng HRT because they have access to the therapeutic medicines and di rin natin madedeny na, madami narin knowledgebase circulating around the internet and among peers. So bravo! We finally achieved something good with information technology.
Hormone Replacement Therapy is one of the many ways na makapagtransition tayo to match our sense of gender identity. Physical, emotional and psychological benefits are surely there.
May mga ideal and need to be discussed components are best HRT and siguro need itong malaman ng maraming transgenders to achieve the best possible individual result.
1. Male Blockers. Antiandrogen. Antitestosterone. (madaming tawag sa mga groups eh.)
Most commonly in the pharma/med world ito ay tinatawag antiandrogens. Need siguro natin malaman at mapagusapan is that yung tinitake nating antiandrogens are not necessarily directly killing/deleting/exterminating the testosterones in our system. Ang ginagawa ng anti androgen is to BLOCK ANDROGEN RECEPTORS. So meaning ang androgen is natural occuring sa body ng isang human being, ang ginagawa ng antiandrogen like spironolactone and cyproterone to name a few is turuan ang body na wag gamitin ito. So, again, it is one of the functions na gusto mo i-achieve so useless kung iinom ka ng super dami because, it will just cause your liver to work overtime and harder. At minimal doses suggested by your health practitioner maybe based on age and weight, you will achieve BETTER results. Walang paramihan dito sis.
Lagi nyo sigurong nababasa, Male blockers are diuretic and potassium-sparing. Ano ba yun?
So diuretic means papaihin ka nya ng bongga. So the higher your doses, expect that you will be excreting more. Kaya dapat laging may access sa good drinking water. Next, potassium-sparing means, di nya ilalabas ang potassium sa body, sodium lang. These are just among the many functions they do. wag na natin laliman pa. Basta remember, up your fluid intake.
2. Estrogens.
Ayun na nga lipat an tayo sa spotlight and talk about estrogens. Eto naman talaga ang talagang need natin. The male biological body does not produce enough estrogen or use enough estrogen in the system para lumabas ang female characteristics. So need sya ng transwomen who wish to physically change their appearance and be more feminine. Ngayon ano ang bioidentical hormones?
Bioidentical hormones are man-made hormones parin mga sis BUT THEY MATCH or are similar sa hormones produced by the body. So linawin lang natin na ang food supplements na may phyto-estrogens ay hindi bioidentical and must not be a substitute in HRT. Kasi di ka naman tanim, phyto-estrogens are processed by the human body in a different way and hormone receptors in your system may not necessarily identify with it. Wag natin i-confuse. so best parin ang hormone preparations rich in estradiol.
3. Progesterone.
Some say di daw ito important. In a sense, progestines may not be in an HRT but onl your doctor can say or recommend that. Progestines though help in manifesting secondary feminine characteristics and may improve in proper shaping ng boobs, skin texture and not mentioning internal processes and effects. Again it usually comes prepared with estrogens so, no need to worry. Pero much better din ang bio-identical progesterones compared sa commonly na nakikita in other forms sa contraceptive preparations.
So need pa ba ng Collagens, Vitamins and Etc.?
Vitamins more than what is recommended is sensible. Pero mga sis, yung ibang supplements its our choice. To say directly it is involved in HRT is inappropriate. Pero it does good sa health esp. if its legit.
Happy road to vavaihan. Trust the process and always take cautions.
